POSITION: Human Resources Director

NATURE OF BUSINESS: South African Subsidiary of a Multinational Industrial Manufacturing Group

JOB LOCATION: Johannesburg

REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Southern Africa (direct) and to the Zone Human Resources Director (indirect)

TOTAL STAFF RESPONSIBILITY: 13 people

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Assume accountability and responsibility for supporting the operations in the Southern Africa region from a Human Resources perspective. Be responsible for providing strategic direction on Human Resources policies and procedures for the business units in the region and ensure the achievement of business goals

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

Should hold a relevant tertiary qualification

  • At least 10 – 15 years’ experience in the Human Resources field

  • Must have had at least five years’ experience in leading the Human Resources function for a South African Subsidiary company/division of a multinational industrial manufacturing and/or supply group which employs at least 300 people

  • Experience in recruitment, succession planning, retention and talent management, employee engagement, performance management, industrial relations, training and development, payroll, employment equity management (including BBBEE certification & compliance), compensation management and employee benefits is essential

  • Must be familiar with working in a matrix structured organisation

  • Must have Industrial Relations experience including dealing with Unions
