TOTAL STAFF RESPONSIBILITY: 20 People

 

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: In the region of R 500 million Annual Sales Budget (with significant growth), and a marketing Budget of R 1 million per annum

 

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: To lead and manage the sales function for capital project equipment and solutions to the minerals industry in Sub Saharan Africa. Specifically, to develop and maintain relations with key customers and suppliers with the intent of increasing and managing sales and ultimately growing the organisation’s mineral processing market share and competence within the territory, thus elevating the company’s Brand awareness. 

GROUP BACKGROUND:

The South African operation is a wholly owned subsidiary an international Group which is based in Europe, and has major project and technology centers across the globe.

The Mineral Processing Solutions Division of the South African operation supplies complete solutions and systems to the precious metals, diamonds, base metals, ferrous metals and coal industries in sub-Saharan Africa. It offers a broad range of equipment and processes including: testing, design, engineering, crushing, grinding, classifying, flotation, thickening and clarifying, vacuum and pressure filtration, pyroprocessing, material handling, slurry handling and automation

 

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED: 

  • Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree or National Higher Diploma (Chemical, Metallurgical or Mechanical). A post graduate management qualification would be advantageous
  • Knowledge and experience of key mineral processing equipment groups and their inter-relationship, specifically, Crushing, Grinding, Classification, Flotation, Filtration, Sedimentation and Pyro Processing.
  • 2 to 5 years Mine plant/operational/ industry experience. At least 8 years experience in sales of capital equipment to the mining industry, five of which must have been in a management position
  • Market Credibility, with extensive customer contacts in the mineral processing industry, particularly within the large mining houses and consulting engineering environment
  • Experience in the development and successful sale of engineered solutions
  • Access to market intelligence with knowledge and experience of commercial sales law and contracting models

  • Key Customer and Client relationship building and maintenance.
  • Holistic market assessment and opportunity forecasting.
  • Development of focus opportunities and formulation of complex value propositions that enhance the organisation’s opportunity to successfully win contracts.
  • Sales business leadership with the ability to drive the transition from equipment focus sales to solution focussed sales.
  • Promote the organisation’s Brand within the sales territory and manage associated marketing activities and budget
  • Planning and organising the capital sales and marketing activities, and leading a team of sales professionals to achieve required results
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the business as a member of the senior management team
