EXECUTIVE POSITION: Commercial Director, South Africa

JOB LOCATION: Johannesburg

REPORTS TO: Managing Director, South Africa

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Responsible for initiating and driving the marketing and sales strategy aligned to key business objectives, delivering profitable sales and market share growth and achieving targets, and contributing to delivery of financial targets for the South African Retail business.

KEY EXECUTIVEATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Must be a Graduate
  • Solid sales background in the retail or wholesalesector of the FMCG Industry
  • Proven experience in managing brands and marketing
  • At least 10 years experience as the head of sales ormarketing in a top-tier multinational FMCG food company
  • Strong people management and leadership
  • Proven relationships with Key Accounts Managers wouldbe encouraged
  • Ability to demonstrate strong commercial acumen andexpert knowledge of principles, concepts, strategies and techniques relating to retail sales and brand management, marketing and customer management through retail channel in the FMCG context

 KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Accountable for developing and implementing the overall strategic marketing and sales plans for the business
  • Foster collaborative partnerships and synergies between Sales, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain teams
  • Working jointly with customers to create category insights and facilitate collaboration between customers and the company
  • Ensuring that new products are aligned to the business strategy and provide profitable growth opportunities for the brand and the business
  • Accountable for devising and maintaining pricing and dealing level strategy in line with the overall strategic growth agenda
  • Accountable for controlling and managing the marketing spend for the Retail business and Retail trade spend budget
