JOB LOCATION: Durban, with travel within the South Africa

 

REPORTS TO: Zone Africa Manager

 

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will be responsible for establishing a human resources function initially in South Africa and expanding into Africa at a later stage.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Must have a Bachelors degree ideally in human resources management
  • Should ideally have a post-graduate, Master of Business Administration (MBA) qualification and have completed courses in organisation development, law and economics
  • At least ten years post-qualifying experience in Human Resources in South Africa, five of which must have been in a management role
  • Should have had experience in integrating businesses
  • Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment would be desirable
  • Should ideally have established a human resources division

KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Primary point of contact between leadership and Human Resources
  • Accountable for architecting organisational capability
  • Providing expert advice and translating business needs into Human Resources requirements
  • Building capability and increasing organisational effectiveness and business performance
  • Focusing on strategic business activities and the monitoring of operational Human Resources services
  • Accountable for all Human Resources issues in the Business Unit while ensuring that Group policy, processes and procedures are understood and applied
